
Ramona Hernandez
Regional Executive 2022-2023
Ramona Hernandez, has been very active with HFMA. She served as President of the Northern California Chapter in 2018-2019. At the HFMA Annual conferences you would always see Ramona and her wonderful smile as one of the course coordinators. Ramona joined HFMA over 25 years ago and has served on the Region 11 Executive team for the past three years.
Ramona Is the Vice President of Revenue Cycle Solutions for Amplus Group. She began her career in healthcare pursuing her career in nursing and 30 years later is still going strong in healthcare.

Sam King
Regional Executive 2 2022-2023
Sam King served in many HFMA national, regional and chapter leadership roles, which includes the HFMA National Advisory Council, National Board of Examiners, National CHFP Exam Standard Setting Committee, Yerger Award judge and Western Region Symposium Co-Chair and Chapter President. His home chapter is Southern California and is a Fellow with HFMA.
Sam is a seasoned healthcare executive, faculty, and consultant with 30 years of experience in healthcare finance, health it, big data analytics, artificial intelligence, and continuous quality improvement. He has also been a leader with the HIMSS and ACHE Southern California chapters. Sam is currently the Chief Information and Innovation Officer for a healthcare start up. He is marathon runner and a licensed soccer coach and referee.

Jeff Johnson
Regional Executive 3 2022-2023
Jeff Johnson is one of the Oregon HFMA’s past president and is a nationally acclaimed motivational trainer, speaker and facilitator, as well as a veteran in the credit and collection industry. He is a certified 7-Habits Trainer and served as a director of the International Division of the Franklin Covey Leadership Center in Salt Lake City.
Jeff is the Chief Client Officer at Professional Credit.

Tammy Trovatten
Regional Treasurer 2022-2023
Tammy Trovatten, FHFMA, currently serves as the HFMA Region 11 Treasurer. She started her active involvement with HFMA in the Montana Chapter, which switched to the Northern California Chapter as well as Region 11 upon her move to Sacramento in 2010. She served as President of the Northern California Chapter 2017-2018. Tammy also served a two-year term as a HFMA National Advisory Council (NAC) member on the Strategy & Innovation committee.
Tammy is the Director of Government Reimbursement and Managed Care Operations at UC Davis Health System. She has over twenty years’ experience in healthcare financial positions. Her career began as a Medicare auditor. She then moved to the provider side at one of the largest hospitals in Montana as Manager of Decision Support and Data Analytics. Tammy’s extensive expertise spans hospital and government finance areas such as government reimbursement, 340B, accounting, budgeting, pricing, payor contracts, documentation and coding, community benefit, audit, and managed care.

Ben Mack
Regional Treasurer Elect 2022-2023
Ben has more than 20 years of healthcare experience. Ben currently works at Optum in corporate finance as a leader with drug rebates. Ben has also spent almost 20 years in public accounting focusing audits and consulting services for both healthcare providers, medical groups and payors. When not spending time biking or with his family Ben enjoys discussing 340B and charity care. Ben served on the board of the Northern California Healthcare Financial Management Association chapter for 13 years, usually as the Treasurer. Ben has also served on the boards of BuildOn and the Hennepin History Museum.

Tammy Dumlao
Immediate Past Regional Executive 2020-2022
Tammy Dumlao is the past Regional Executive and has a long history with HFMA. Her home chapter is Hawaii and was president of the Hawaii chapter in 2009-2010.
Tammy is currently the Director of Revenue Cycle at Hawaii Health Systems. She began her career in healthcare as a medical assistant and found out she was much better working on the business office side so followed her passion and moved into hospital revenue cycle.

Ben Shah
Past Regional Executive 2019-2020
Ben Shah has been very involved with HFMA since joining in 2001. He has served at President of the Oregon Chapter, Chair of the Western Region Symposium, and as Region Executive for Region 11. Ben is a graduate of the University of Oregon (Go Ducks!) and received his MBA from Portland State University. After most of his life living and working for health systems in Oregon, Ben now lives in Olympia, Washington as the CEO for Olympia Orthopaedic Associates, an independent orthopaedic and neurosurgery group.
